It was a great trail. An awesome trail to Bukit Timah.
Ask any Singaporean about our history, we would mostly expect a "yawn" as a response. This apathetic attitude towards the understanding our bountiful history of 700 years is pretty unfair to our forefathers, who set foot at this little island in the Malay archipelago. As a result, Time Travellers was formed based on this very ground that we want to reinvent or "beautify" history so that it will be more attractive to our own local people. History is not just facts, it's also about the appreciation of "written" or "evidential" truth. Time Travellers believe strongly in the promoting of the History of Singapore to Singaporeans, especially to the youths of today. As cliché as it may sound, there is still a necessity for everyone to know and understand their history well in order to appreciate what we have at present.
Time Travellers is proud to say that our group was chosen to go for a Heritage Trail at this Bukit Timah (named the most expensive place in Singapore) by their Dr L. We were so excited embark on this trail to explore more about this place because of the multi-faceted history that will be unfolded to us. As we did prior research for that place before we went on the trip, we were already amazed by the multifarious amount of information we got and the contents were also interesting.
Having completed the trail, Time Travellers was really awed by the copious amount of history each of the checkpoints on our trail possesses. This blog shall serve to inform our own fellow Singaporeans about the intricate history that Bukit Timah has told us.
Disclaimer: Being aware of how history now is so different from what actually happened from the past, Time Travellers would like to emphasize that certain stuff that was presented to us have to be taken conservatively. We know that we may sound politically correct, but if you would have gone on such a fascinating trail with us, you might just go into an agreement with us. :)
We hope you will enjoy snippets of History through our Photoblog. Cheers!
